I have been wanting to try a Dirty Bird scuttle for a while now, and I found a used 1.5 for sale and bought it last week. It just showed up today and I must admit that it's quite a bit larger than I pictured it. I currently have a Becker medium sized scuttle. I pictured that 1.5 as being a little larger than the Becker, but that's definitely an understatement!

I did a test lather earlier to see how it felt. I used Proraso in the green tub and it seemed to make lather much quicker than I'm used to. Not sure if it's the webbed ridges, larger bowl, or both. All I know is, I'm really looking forward to trying lots of different soaps and creams in that thing.

I'm just surprised that with all that positive reviews that I have read, I don't remember anyone ever mentioning how large this thing is! I just need some time to get used to my new shaving punchbowl!

Congratulations, enjoy! What glaze did you decide on? Pics would be great especially one showing the size comparison to your Becker.

OK, here are a couple of pics for comparison of size between the DB 1.5 and Becker medium scuttle. I never though that the Becker scuttle was too small, but it sure is tiny in comparison.

I didn't have the room on my counter for both scuttles, so I had to put them both on the back of the toilet. It's not artistic, but it gets the point across! [img][Image: 15eig78.jpg][/img]

One of my scuttles is a DB 1.5, and I especially like it for my largest brushes, e.g. Polo 14 and Chubby 3 Manchurians. I hope you enjoy yours, it looks really nice.

The New 24mm knot brush from TGN is gonna work fine with your scuttle. It was just to big for me because I face lather, and that BRUSH holds a ton of water. I also want to mention it has to be the softest brush I've ever used but has good backbone, and the barber handle with that scuttle was made to order. Happy shaving.
