What's the consistency of this cream? Is it a straight on cream like most or more stiff? Almost like a soft soap? I'm asking only because of something that I was told on another site recently.

it's a firmer cream. you can scoop it out if you wanted, but i load directly in the tub.

Hmm. Ok. I was told that it's very similar to something like Cella in terms of consistency.

close to cella....Sure, i'd say that too.

i would consider Cella a soft soap. so with CF being a Hard Cream, they are somewhat similar.

Oh ok. Interesting. So would you load it like you would a hard soap?

not as long, but i load it right on my tub. 15sec max and very lightly.

the brush picks it up much much faster then a hard soap or even a soft soap.

it's a hard cream, so you have to adjust load time.

I've never tried scooping it, just a 15-20 second load, depending on what brush. Works great.

Why not? Does the lather get all over everything?

No, the cream is very slippery gel like, and if you scoop it down into the bowl, you will find that it's pretty hard to dissolve it and get it loaded into the brush while you try to make the lather with it in the bowl.

Instead swirl the brush so the tips gets coated with it, and then build your lather from there.

Don't scoop it - you end up with half a dollop in your bowl AFTER the shave Wink

Lovely cream. I don't care for lime scent, but this is out of this world.

Just dip the tips of the brush, that's all you need.

I'm more of a soap person and the consistency of CF creams is the main reason why they are one of the few creams I will use. Load like a soap. You'll find a very thin covering of the brush hair tips will go a long way. Add that Lime scent in to the equation and it's seventh heaven.

Ok perfect guys. I just received mine in the mail and it's rather stiff. I'll try the suggested and see how it goes. It smells amazing.

The best one I ever got was from Colonial Drug was softer than Cella, but was the easiest to lather all the way down to the last bit. My current CF Limes is a little runnier, but still offers a great shave (when I get the water ratio right). I don't much care for the Lavender tho...

I just love CF limes. CF creams lather wonderfully, I had to post here to figure out to use it like a soft soap as scooping just doesn't work.

It's good stuff. I used up a sample last summer.

But you see why I don't recommend scooping it. Normal creams, it's easy to scoop and spread around your face (I do face lathering.) A hard cream like CF, not so much. Even scooping some out and bowl lathering is kind of hard.

It's much easier to treat it like a soap and build some lather on the puck, then do bowl/face lathering.

I just received a tub of this and it does indeed smell fantastic. I am home sick today (damn cold) and I will shave with it later. If I have an unusually good or bad experience I will post, but mostly I am looking forward to that wonderful lime scent to help clear my nose! Maybe I will follow up with some Proraso pre/post shave cream - that should thoroughly mentholate my sinuses!
----------------update:
I scooped a bit out of the container and it was a mistake. I will just load my brush from the tub next time. Too much of what I scooped out ended up in the sink. Facepalm
