edit: OK, this isn't working. :-) My doing. More explanation is required.

80 Below is a LE product that I made in Sept/Oct last year. I'm looking for volunteers from that group of customers. For this test, it's not good enough to be willing or to have used a menthol product of another description. By the very nature of the test the testers must come from that pool.

I didn't keep records of those gents who bought the 80 Below LE. But I'd like some of those CONUS folks to volunteer to test something new. If you're willing to be a guinea pig let me know either here, by PM, or e-mail (suitably titled to draw my attention please). You should also have weather suitable for using your 80 Below. (80 Below is a menthol shave lotion)

Gents, it's imperative that the volunteers be KF 80 Below customers since I'm trying to duplicate that product. I need their noses.

TIA

Shame I'm not in the CONUS then... I found that putting on a bit of 80 Below when it's 12C below REALLY makes you wake up... Biggrin

Well, before Hans said it's a great wake up at -12C I'd have written warm weather.

Hans, you have a much bigger pair than I do. I like the yin/yang of menthol lather and hot water, but out in the cold I just can't do a face freeze. Yeah, I guess it'd be a wake up! Biggrin

Born and breed in the land of ice and snow - works quicker than coffee too Biggrin

Not something I would do every day.. but now and then it's great to feel the frost and know you're alive.

It's a shame I never got to try the original LE or I'd be all in to hel you out. I can't wait for the finished product.

Thanks Doug.

The good thing is that this time it'll be a regular production item. And as long as this present supplier of mine stays in business I won't go through this again. What caused all of this was that 2 of my suppliers went belly up hence the complete reformulation. Biggrin Now all my eggs are in one basket. Gee, that won't cause problems Facepalm . I think (hope) they're financially stable. But I have more info as far as sourcing, so while it would cause a problem, it wouldn't be insoluble.

I think I'm there with the duplication, or at least very close- as close as my nose can get to it. I just need confirmation.

I'm using it right now and the wife said it smelled good and it certainly feels good on my face. It works just like the 80 Below on the skin... maybe a tad better (that was the easy part). I'm going to be testing it as well over the next few days since we have a slight and brief warm up. Then we're back into the deep freeze.

Brian, I hope you know that I'm in without even posting in this thread. Not sure how good my sniffer is though as I still haven't figured out the secret ingredient(s). Laughing1

Brian I need your sniffer just as it is.

I'll write something up for the testers, but basically I just want to know if what I'll be sending out smells the same as what you have. Of course I need to know if it works the same too, but it should, or better.

When the new production menthol goes into production I'll make sure to reveal the secret ingredient no one has yet picked up on with their nose (I don't either and I know it's there). I'm quite proud that it's in there. It's quite expensive and IMO if I can do it I will. I need to try it in the Bay Rum. It might work there as well.

If things go as planned I might be sending out test samples in a few days. First I need to try if for a few shaves to fine tune it and compare to the Below 80. I have one address, I'll ask for the others in due time.

I could use a few more testers though.

I actually like the 80 below in the winter. It makes my face tingle oh so sweetly! Biggrin

I'd be willing to test out a new formulation! I live in sunny Riverside California where this morning at 6:30am it was a warm 21* F (as compared to the rest of the USA...)

Let me know how to proceed.
