Schick blades made in China can be found without much trouble (even amazon has them), but USA or German Schick? I guess they're extinct. :\

Pulling this thread back up with following questions:

  1. If I find Schicks in a store i'm sure I can look at the packaging to see where they were made, but is it safe to assume that they are all Chinese made now (for online purchase)?
  2. Also, I know many perceive Persona 74 to be a great DE blade, assuming you could find them can the same be said about Persona 74 injectors, and would they be worth the extra $?

Thanks,

Moe

I have Personna 74's and I don't think they are worth the extra money. Every injector blade I've tried worked well. Personna, Schick, Ted Pella, PAL. For me the Ted Pella's have a slight lead in popularity. They seem sharper and longer lasting.

I get incredibly close shaves with the Chinese Schick Injector blades in my Schick Model E. However, the final result always leaves my face feeling a bit raw and with a few weepers. Nothing drastic, mind you, but I'd sure like to find blades that shave as close but without the drawbacks. It's one reason I don't use my Injector razor more.

It's not the blades Freddy, it is the E series. They are the more aggressive Schick and some, depending on how they have been treated over the years can be really aggressive. Put those blades is a good G1 or I1 and you will enjoy an irritation free shave.

Johnny, I have an I2, I believe, and find it so mild that I simply don't get a close shave with it. I don't use the E often but when I do I am always impressed at the closeness of the shave and disappointed at the irritation. When we talk about no pressure, the E is a classic example of that. Just the slightest touch to skin and it mows down the beard.

NOS Personna's for me. I just bought 36 more for $14. They are the Platinum Chrome blades.

I'm just now getting into injectors and am looking for blades too. I found some re-branded Personnas at my local base exchange but will probably end up getting some of the Chinese Schicks.

I found some new old stock Schick brand blades labeled as made in USA. Those are the ones I've had the best luck with, but can't find them anywhere now. All the current ones are made in China and don't give me nearly as good of a shave. I've not tried the Personnas.
