I don't use the 7x magnifier for shaving, but for removing an eyelash it's great. I wish now that I had sprung for the 10x mirror. I use the 1x side for shaving. OK, the big reveal... I'm extremely near sighted, so the mirror close to me saves my back. Otherwise I need to lean forward to see well and some days that just doesn't work well at all. If you don't know about that now, I hope you never do, but things happen as we age and most isn't for the best.

I'd figured it would benefit so your wouldn't have to lean towards the mirror and my vision is already crap anyway hahaha so I feel your pain and I'm near sided as well

I got the 8" mirror (extendable/retractable), there are smaller ones, but I like the larger ones. You'll only buy it once, so make sure you do it right- you'll be drilling holes. Once you get accustomed to using it you'll appreciate the larger size IMO. If it was 20" in diameter I'd be even happier. Of course it would weigh a ton and require lag bolts, so maybe 8" is enough after all. Wink

Don't be taken in by thinking high price means a better mirror. I checked the $200 mirrors and I think they came out of the same factory in China as mine did. I couldn't see why the huge price difference unless someone intends to keep the price tag hanging from it and gets off on that.

I got mine from Amazon for under $30 shipped.

There's a recent thread on the same subject and there's also an Ikea mirror for ~1/3 the price that I paid. I just thought you should know. I knew.

We have a Super Wal-Mart big enough to where I think about packing MREs and maybe taking camping gear for an overnight.
We did venture into it, we normally don't. OK, now I don't know if they all have the same stock, but ours had squat. Good luck!

Please let us know how you make out.
