I've always enjoyed a warm shave. So in November, I ordered a scuttle from Julie at Dirty Bird Pottery. It arrived at my door, the 27th of December. I wanted a special glazing, and asked Julie to do a solid blue glazing with special white edges (kinda Greek looking if I can call it that). And I got exactly what I wanted! She sure is a beauty, and a one of a kind Biggrin

I have tried it a couple of times, and it makes lather very quickly! And the most important of all, it keeps the lather nice and warm! I'm very pleased with my purchase.

DB1.5 is the best scuttle out there in my mind.

i've tried and owned a few other scuttles and the DB1.5 is hands down the leader.

nice pickup

Thank you gents!

Julie is a great person, a great artisan and absolutely great to do business with. She's highly recommended in my book.

Since this is my first scuttle, I can't compare it. But I will definitely enjoy this on Smile

I've had mine since last November, loved it during the cold winter months for the warmth that it afforded my lather during my whole shave.

Plus it simply looked cool. In fact I wasn't going to buy it, viewing it as a bit of an extravagance. Yet after seeing the Julie's video, my wife insisted that I get it.

She was right of course. Smile

For those folks waiting for their DB, you're in for a treat.

I have to agree with Bruce on this one. That blue and white reminds me of some kind of Oceanic theme. Congrats and enjoy!

I also like the custom blue/white color scheme. I really like my Dirty Bird 1.5, and I also like my smaller scuttle, the one made by Michal in Israel. It's a one piece, works great. For the past few months I've been using a plain wooden bowl that is a wonder at bowl-lathering. When the weather gets a lot colder in a few weeks or so, I'll probably fire up the scuttles so I can get some hot lather. I'm looking forward to it.
