The plastic disposable razor in the photo hangs on the wall in my shave den as a reminder of the many sins in my youth. I don't need it so much to prevent me from falling off the wagon; rather, it's a daily reminder of how lucky I am to be in my present shaving world. Do you keep such symbols around so that every day you can thank your lucky stars?

Hi Obie

I honestly don't know why, but I've kept the handles to my Gillette Sensor and Mach3 (they RIP in the box I keep my DE blades).

Take care, Mike

Obie, my old electric shaver is stored in the back of my shave den. I roll my eyes every time I see it.

Obie, that is cool to watch!

I still have the same disposable, and I never threw it away. Each time I look at it I think how was it possible to shave with it... Dodgy

I did a very thorough bathroom cleaning a couple weeks ago and threw out every trace of disposable/cartridge/canned goo shame I found. I'm clean, baby. Clean!

I still have my Sensor and Mach3 handles not so much as a reminder but because I'm a packrat and don't thow things out. I took them out of the bathroom cabinet and into an overflow drawer.

The day I received my Merkur 33C in the mail, I threw away my Fusion handle, the one extra cartridge I had, and the rest of my can of shaving cream. I have thoroughly wiped my hands of it, but I will absolutely not soon forget those memories—you know, the once-a-week-bleeding-out-the-pores-into-the-sink kind of memories? And the razor-burn-so-bad-you-stick-your-head-in-the-freezer ones?

I am not sure why, but I too have a few handles and a couple blades. Well, maybe I do. If I miss a whisker under the nose and it really bothers me, I will use it to remove whisker then hide it again.
I tried to shave with one several months back, just to see, and it was the worst shave I can remember. I had stubble everywhere. Not sure how I ever used those things.

I have the old handles and a few cart's, but I tell myself... "If I ever fly...". Not very likely.

I was discussing this with my buddy just today. The horror show that cart's were.

I don't get all the hate. I can get a good shave from my Mach 3 and keep it around.

Not so much razors, but I do have a box of panties that remind me of something else from my youth...

I PIF the last 4-pack of Fusion blades I had to a co-worker and got rid of the handle.

As an intermediary step I used Dorco Pace-4 carts before switching to DE razors. I still have a whole bunch of those around (I ordered in bulk) but lately my wife has used them and she really likes how they perform. Although she doesn't use any lather at all -- I don't get it but whatever works I guess. But now I have also introduced her to the Thayer's witch hazel and she really likes that too.

I still use the Atra from time to time and get nice comfy shaves with it. It doesn't compare to my straight shaves for fun and the feeling of accomplishment though.

I'd agree if it were another cart but those old Bics weren't bad shavers at all. Bic was the brand of my youth. Bic Lighter for cigarettes (which thankfully went away) and a Bic Razor to shave with. From age 16-my early 20's, I spent more time in the morning with Bic than anyone else.

Funny, I shaved with Bic disposables for a couple of weeks as an intermediate step to a DE. I wanted to re-learn how to shave with a single blade. I still use the remains from that bag for short travel when I don't check my bags. Pretty good shaver actually.
