Hi, anyone own an use a Gillette Fat Handle Hybrid? They came after the New and had a slot running right across the upper side of the base plate. I am curious to know if they have a distinctive shave feel. I'd like one, too, but have never handled one.

Shaun, I *think* I have the same razor. When I have some more time later, I'll look.

Edit: I found it. Same set as Achim's. Haven't shaved with it in months but may give it a spin this evening. Seem to recall it was very similar to the NEW shave, which I use often.

I have one and they give a very nice shave.

They are very similar to a British Fat Handle Tech (as you would expect) and if you like Fat Handled Tech's then you'll love this razor.

There is a very slight difference in dimensions between the handle on this razor and a normal British Fat Handle - this gives the razor excellent balance.

The Rhodium plating also makes all the difference to the appearance of the razor compared to a standard British Tech.

In the leather case? Wow; I am so envious. I love the look of these so much.

Yep, leather case. Quick phone pic below. Just noticed the zipper on mine is on the opposite side when opened, compared to Achim's case. With all of the variants Gillette would use, I'm not surprised.

Looks great! Thanks for posting. I have a serious case of 'denvy' now Smile

I see these fetch a high price, so I guess they are kind of rare. I have never seen one for sale or auction anywhere though.
