Biggrin I know! I refreshed several times and took 8x10 glossy pictures of my screen to prove it.

It has been eliminated. There were a lot of links to items that were listed below minimum allowed prices. We felt that vendors who were breaking distributor/manufacturer agreements should not be rewarded. It became too much of a PITA to police.

What if it's a deal that the manufacturer themselves is pushing, like the recent sale of Endymion by Penhaligon's webstore?

The problem with the shopping deals forum is that since none of the mods except Phil have any clue what Minimum allowed pricing is for most products, only Phil is able to make sure every "deal" meets the manufacturer's pricing policies. It's a lot for one person to have to deal with.

Yes, it is sad to see it go, but when "deals" break manufacturer's pricing policies it just isn't fair to the vendors who abide by the rules.

That is fine but the problem is that members were frequently and unknowingly posting deals that were not allowed per distributor and/or manufacturer agreements. In a two hour span yesterday, there were two such threads. It is too much of a headache to monitor. Penhaligons can post the deal themselves...all they have to do is join the Nook and become a vendor.

Can someone please post The Shave Nook 15% discount code for Truefitt & Hill USA or has it been moved to another area on the site?

As I would like to purchase this shaving brush within the next few weeks...

Thank you.

I think you can just go to B&B and use their discount code.

bottom line, it's Phil's site, he chose to do it for whatever reason he felt was for the good of the site. case closed.

he also offered a solution for vendors to post deals.

Steve, I'm not a member over there or any other shaving forum (except here) for that matter, so don't have access to the discounts they offer their members...

Bruce, I believe it should go well with my DR Harris H3 and Taylor of Old Bond Street RT1S (which I understand is the same brush as the Truefitt & Hill one I'm after, but in the smallest size), then that will just leave a GEO F Trumper shaving brush to complete my quaternity collection of fine (London) gentlemen pharmacy shaving brushes...

Good luck in acquiring your one Smile

I believe I may have accidentally clicked on the "Report" button instead of the "Quote" button on the following posts by mistake: If I did, please ignore and accept my apology for making such a mistake.

And apologies to the gentlemen I may have reported, I honestly didn't mean to do so (if in fact I did).

You actually do not have to be a member of B&B to use the B&B discount (or the SMF discount).

Yup Smile I've used their discounts even though I'm not a B&B member anymore, and I really don't participate at SMF.

Maybe we can have a sticky or wiki page for companies that are not paying vendors but have still generously offered to give our members coupon codes? It would *not* be a place to post "blahblah is having a sale" but "blahblah is offering a 10% discount if you give the coupon code SHAVENOOKRULES." I'd prefer that they chip in to pay the lights around here, but I think encouraging companies to offer discounts for TSN participants is a good "first step" towards becoming a vendor.

Aw man, I recently made a post in the Shopping Deals forum. Hope it didn't violate any rules. I had no idea about the "distributor/manufacturer agreements" I saw a low price and posted it as I imagine most others did.

Maybe have a Shopping Deals Forum where only a few moderators are allowed to post? But in all actuality there are already great deals in the "Swap and Shop" already.

No worries...you would have no way of knowing. I have a hard enough time keeping up on it myself.

Your idea of the Shopping Deals forum is a good one and is something we will definitely consider. We will find a place to sticky the discount codes (such as T&H) that do not violate any agreements.

That makes us 3 looking for the same brush and handle color.I tried one of these brushes in the past , with a white porcelain handle , in super badger , instead of silvertip , and what a great brush it was.

The T&H USA discount code is SNOOK (15% off)
