Here is my 1958 D1 Toggle :

I got it as a gift for my birthday last year.
I anticipated it as being in poor shape so I even asked for pricings on a replating and all. But when I finally got it, what a surprise, no box but absolutely mint razor. I couldn't believe it. And a D1, icing on the cake Biggrin

I don't use it very often in fear of damaging it (I know...) but when I do it's wide opened to 9 .

Hope you like it !

Mine also is gold plated and in very good condition. Because of the gold I hesitate to use it frequently. seeing the ones here I kind of wish I had done with the silver tone.

Here's one I can get into! Here's a couple of my SOTD pics of my 1956 5-speed serial #4039 toggle. It's not in perfect condition, but it's the pride of my collection and I use it often.

Yes, it shaves like a dream. I generally keep it at a nice, mild 2 anyways, only moving up to a 5 for that first pass when I have multiple days of growth.

Just finished fixing a members Toggle, it was not adjusting. Now his rhodium plated Toggle is working again. It was a labor of love. [Image: GetAttachment-108.jpg]

What did you do to fix it?
I tapped on the adjuster base/plate from outside and inside until it loosed up from the gunk, it now adjusts.

So that Toggle was Rhodium plated? I'm assuming that was done on purpose by the current owner. What are peoples feelings on replating a Toggle. Say someone has a Toggle with less than ideal plating, and wants it to look its best for the rest of his life, cause he never plans on parting with it....

Yes, Plated in rhodium. Many people plate it when they plan on using it and not collecting.
