I live in Sydney. Today the temperature hit 45.8c in the city (that's 114.44F). That's also a record. What temperature did it reach where you live, today?

Worse, wife and I got stuck on a train, in the sun, no air-con, for 1.5 hours. It must have reached 55...and were were saturated with sweat. We took the train to the city thinking we were doing the right thing and left the car at an earlier location. WRONG MOVE!

But...we got home and there was a lovely package awaiting me from Connaught...and this, too was a record...only 1 week from despatch to delivery in Sydney.YES!

Today they expect -11°C (12°F) where I live... but that's far from a record. Still cold enough to stay indoors unless I have to do something though...

Snow here yesterday (about 3 inches or so) and everything shut down. Folks in the south have no idea how to deal with snow

32F (0C) here today, sunny. Not record-breaking, but we've had less snow than usual for the last 2 winters here.

It's 8.3C (47F) here today and very foggy. Someone just published a report saying that Seattle is the 4th cloudiest city in the country, and 8 of the top 11 most cloudy cities are in the Pacific Northwest. But it makes everything green....

19 F (-7c). Pretty mild winter so far here in New Hampshire. Still have another 3 months or so though.

It is a colder day, it was 50F (10C) this past Sunday. But only have had maybe 3 snow storms so far. Only down to 0 F once.

Today it will hit 43F which is about 12F above average for the day. What is most mind boggling to me is the fact I have yet to have snow on the ground. There have been some flurries, but nothing to stick or measure here. Over at O'Hare (the official weather station for Chicago) they have had a total of 1.3" of snow covering 4 total snowfalls. While Chicago is not in the snow belt, we do average about 34" of snow a year so we are very far behind. While it is nice to not have to deal with the snow, it does continue the overall drought for the region and it will certainly impact the farmers when spring comes.

There wasn't an air con to start with. It's a bit like that here; some trains do, some don't. We got one without one on the hottest Sydney day on record. Then the train system collapsed. Not a good ad for Sydney, I realise. There is more emphasis here on clean haircuts and ironed shirts than trains functioning properly. I have caught better run trains in Vietnam.

+1 Very similar in Vancouver as we are not so far from Seattle and the same type of weather, usually.

Today we were unseasonably warm at 55F (~13C) not a record. Tomorrow is supposed to get into the 60s. Normal would be highs in the upper 30s or low 40s.
