With the help of Teiste and Truckman we were able to get a very nice all-around brush.
Mind you that this was the first (and only, so far) brush that uses Finest Badger hair.

I thought that 2011LE also uses FInest Badger hair.
Awhile ago I bought my SOC 2-band Cherry based on an impulsive decision. I was surprised how different it felt from the other brushes I had with its strong backbone, nice flow through, and quite scrubby but not prickly tips. I liked it so much that shortly after that I bought the 2011 LE Finest 2. I didn't plan to buy that one because of some reviews saying the tips have too much scrub or are prickly. IMO both brushes feel similar on the face with the LE having thicker densely packed knot.

You are correct. I should have said "the only production brush".
And you correct again by saying the LE has a different feel to it. What do you prefer between the 2?

I prefer using them both for face lathering. I find the SOC has a little better flow through of the two. Typically, I use it for playing with soaps, building slowly lather on my face and enjoy the scrub with the retro-classic feel of the wooden handle. With added density and hair, I feel the LE is more aggressive on the face. I think of it as more efficient and use it when I don't have much time to spend for my shave, I use more product with it, most often cream, and get the job done quickly. The solid, heavy, comfortable handle contributes to this impression.
