I usually shave in the morning after a shower, but sometimes, especially on weekends, I'll do a mid-day or early evening shower.

Then when the next morning rolls around I've got just a bit of stubble. What do you guys do? Do you skip it, do a full 2+ pass shave or go for some sort of touch-up (just a single "final" pass)?

I've found that the "touch-up", while tempting, doesn't seem to work for me. I don't get a great result and I may still get irritation. I'm better off skipping it or going for a whole shave with a mild setup.

What do you think?

I generally just leave it as long as I look presentable for work.

Unless you're pressed for time, why forego the pleasure of a full shave. Just do it.

I don't know what it is but everytime I've tried to do a touch up it's ended in a less than stellar result and a mild to severely irritated face.

I just gave up on the whole idea

If I don't work on Saturday, I usually don't shower until after lunch or later. In that case I just skip Saturday and make up for it with a great shave on Sunday for church. I tend to get closer shaves if I skip a day...but I rarely do it.

For myself I get the best results shaving at day and 1/2 intervals. 24 hours when I have to but not for more than 3 days in a row. Then I'll start getting irritation. I prefer to shave after a shower but that's not always an option. I've got my pre shave prep down to where it doesn't really matter as far as quality of shave....

+1 i can't imagine not shaving every day. i have a coarse beard and i can't skip a day or else it is quite noticeable and feels odd.

Working nights I am presented with the same problem on a regular basis. On my days off I'll have to shave earlier than usual. If I shaved the night before I'll either skip or do a two pass shave.

I only shave once a day, but it that one time does happen to come late afternoon or evening, I'll usually just do a one pass job with the grain so that it is ready for a full shave the next morning.

Was in a "touch-up" situation this morning and went for the full shave with a gentle razor (injector G-type). Much more satisfying than just touching up... Biggrin
