Has anyone tried the Gillette Silver Blue Blades? I'm very intrigued.

I shaved today with the Gillette Super Thin's, liked the amplified acoustics, but prefer the thicker Gillette 7 O'Clock Sharps & Gillette Platinum's (that I picked up from the AoS).

If by chance the Silver Blues have a similar keenness to the 7 Sharps & smoothness of the Platinums I would be very pleased!

Good blades! On par with 7 O'Clock blacks and Iridiums.

To me, they are even sharper than Feathers.

As long as they are smooth I am cool with that.

Very good blades. Smooth and sharp. They are right there with Astra SP, Gillette 7 O'Clock black for me but not quite as sharp as a Feather.

I wouldn't say sharp as a Feather. But Sharper than a feather by the third shave. I find them very very very similar to Polsilver SI which is my favorite blade in most razors.

+1 on these blades. There was a scare a few years ago that these were being discontinued but I'm 99% that rumor was false as more vendors are stocking these blades.

I just ordered another 100, plus another 100 of the Blacks. Both will make good substitutes once my stock of Bleue Extras is gone.

I've read all this post and decided to put them in the cart in my next order since I enjoy the green astras and the super iridiums.

I had heard the Silver Blues are the same as the 7 O'Clock Blue, which IMO are superior to the 7 O'Clock Black. The Blues are made in the same factory in St Petersburg. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I found 2 kinds of Silver Blue blades, in physical shops around here, in Portugal:

The Russian Silver Blues, made in the S. Petersburg factory:

And the Czech Silver Blues, made in the old Czech Gillette factory:

I find no significant differences, so far, between the old czech blades and tha current russian blades. And, so far, they are my favourite blades. Sharp like a feather, smooth and forgiving like a Croma Diamant or Personna and they last like a Super Iridium or Perma-Sharp.

For me, Gillette Silver Blues are the best blades I have ever tried, and it's not even close. I have tried a good amount of blades by now - Feather, Derby, Lord, Astra, Personna, Voshkod, yellow, black and Super Thin Gillettes, Treet, Wilkinson, Polsilver, Super Max, and many others I have forgotten -- and none work as well for me as the Silver Blues. I can't explain it exactly, other than to say they seem to be the perfect combination of sharp and smooth (to me). Blades apparently are very much YMMV, but I would highly suggest you at least try them.

Yes, absolutely top notch in my book. I have tried dozens of blades, and (to me) none are better than Silver Blues.
