This is a recent antique store acquisition and I'm hoping someone may be able to help with an I.D.

Silvertip badger knot, a bit ragged around the edges. ~27mm knot diameter and a loft of ~60mm. Floppy as all get out. Ivory colored handle feels solid. No branding whatsoever. "304" hand written on the base of the handle. There appears to be a grain pattern in the handle, but it is very faint. The handle does not feel "even" moving around the circumference, as if it was carved rather than turned. I've searched the 'net but cannot find a matching handle shape from any of the major players so it may be a custom job or small maker. The knot size and generally good condition make me think it is of more recent make.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

Is the handle cold to the touch and feels extremely luxurious?

Nope, feels like hard rubber or resin. My eagle-eyed daughter noticed faint markings which are the remnants of a stamped label. I'm going to try to get a better shot of the label and fiddle with it in gimp.
