While browsing another forum earlier I stumbled upon a thread that said the return of Floid Blue might be a limited run only. Any one have any info on this?

ACKH ! I was just getting ready to pull the trigger on my first bottle. Oh surely they would not discontinue something so highly regarded? Maybe they are just teasing.

I'm pretty sure it has already been discontinued...what you see for sale it what is left in stock.

Are you guys saying the Floid Blue with the new labels that Phil has in stock is a discontinued product? He told me that more stock was available.

It was said to be discontinued for some time then re introduced with a new bottle design. The new bottle version can be viewed at Bullgoose. The new rumor is the new stock that was re introduced is only limited run.

That's the rumor Johnny although it seems unlikely.

If that is the case then it is just plain stupid. First they want to discontinue one of the best after shaves on the planet, then they want to tease us with a limited run and discontinue it again. If that's the case, I will never buy another Floid product of any kind.

I can't see why they'd go to the trouble of designing a new label, sending it out to many vendors, and then discontinuing it again almost immediately. It makes no sense honestly.

Is the newly labeled version the same product as the old...if so I'm happy to hear they brought it back, hopefully for the long haul.

Why in the world would a company stop production, re-label and re-distribute (without a re-formulation which was very smart BTW) all over the planet and then pull what could be the dumbest and biggest April fools joke with one of the best, most loved AS on all of the shaving forums? If they do that it will be me and a 400ml bottle of Proraso and Vitos AS splash for ever. I with you Johnny if that happens I'm done with Floid!

I have not had the privilege of trying this one yet, but I've heard good things about it.

This was Joe's (From Italian Barber) reply to a question about when he will be carrying the Floid blue again.

"We were told that Blue Floid won't be a regular stock item and only a 'special run' was produced. Our cost price actually rose, so retail price may actually increase when we receive it."

We were told by our Supplier that this batch of Blue Floid was a "special run" and not regular production. I can't confirm if the rumor is true but everything this Gentleman has told us in the past has been true.

Joe's information seems to to be correct. The companies website doesn't even show the blue in their product line up. I emailed them for clarification on the issue, we'll see if they respond.

Well if it's true then it would make no sense at all.
Why would you let a discontinued product return only to discontinue it again.
If it's some left over from the old batch, why go through the hassle of making a new label if you can sell the stuff you have as NOS and probably will make more profit of it.

The question about the label redesign is a good one, but Tom's point about the product not being on the website is telling.

Maybe we'll get lucky and it's a proof-of-concept or something, so a limited run to gauge interest before full production starts.

Either way, looks like I should pick up a second bottle soon.
