Well... that proves nothing. The website is for the Spanish varieties of Floïd, not for the "Italian" ones. It is truth that both the "Italian" and Spanish are made by the same company (Colomer group in Spain), but they are marketed in a very different way in both markets.

In Spain, the Spanish varieties are sold at supermarkets, etc., to the general public. So, they have a website open to the public.

In Italy, the Italian varieties are sold to the professional market. Barbers, hairdressers, etc, with a totally different distribution channel. So, no website to the public, as it is the case of the Spanish varieties.

Oh, and for the origins of Floïd... there's a thread well worth reading: The origins of the Floïd aftershave: ¿Spain or Italy?

Floïd was never Italian... It always has been a Spanish brand, from Barcelona, marketed and made (also) for the Italian market.

Johnny, my understanding from many comments throughout this forum is that you don't need to Tongue

I also agree, I will just find something else. I am not going to rush out and buy another bottle at higher prices. This is rediculous.

Here is the response I received from a rep. at the Colomer Group- the company that owns the Floid label. Draw your own conclusions, but to me this seems to confirm the rumors that the Blue is discontinued:

Dear Mr. Soltes,

Indeed, we have discontinued Floid AFERSHAVE BLUE. We now have other aftershave: the classics and a new aftershave with modern, masculine fragrance. Visit our site to see our full range::

Perhaps they are referring to the Spanish Floïd Blue that was sold on the Spanish market...?

All I know is that I have another shipment on the way. Huh I am hoping that it is not discontinued but nothing would surprise me.

If it is discontinued, the Myrsol Blue is a very nice alternative.Cool

Let us know when it gets in. I normally don't do this, but may have to go into hoarding mode.

Blue, I hardly knew ye.

If they think the new Floid black is a suitable replacement for the blue they are seriously mistaken! That stuff smells aweful IMHO!

I have to admit I'm a big Floid fan, but a few months ago I found some Skin Bracer Cooling Blue on Overstock.com and have been using it about 90% of the time ever since. I guess that would make me a bigger Skin Bracer Cooling Blue fan. There is, however, a certain amount of nostalgia that comes with using Floid though. Smile

Does Aqua Velva really smell like Floid Blue, and if so, which version does? I ask because I have been interested in the Floid but I picked up a bottle of A.V. Ice Sport the other day for less than four bucks and really like it. Figure I'll get a bottle of the regular A.V. as well and if one of these smells like Floid Blue, my problem is solved. Wink

I personally don't think your problem will be solved. I wore AV for years and to me it is nothing like Floid Blue.

I agree with Johnny. AV is no replacement to Floid Blue. When people do refer to it they are talking about the regular version of Aqua Velva. The Ice Sport version you have is a "Cool Water" clone I am told.

I have no idea what Floid Blue smells like because I'm not paying $49.99+extra for shipping on an after shave. I'm sure it's nice but, that goes beyond my budget.

This is my problem. I read great things about it and am interested. But getting a bottle, shipped to me, is gonna cost more than sixty bucks. I found a couple threads online about people thinking Aqua Velva smells similarly to it and I just wondered how close it was.

You can get a sample of Floid Blue from Garry's Sample Shop for $2.50, from there you can decide if it's worth it it not for you. Keep in mind you are getting a 400ml bottle that will last a LONG time. Also most sites have free shipping if you exceed a certain amount, ie $80 at Bullgoose, just add a few more smaller items to hit that amount an your money will be going to product and not shipping.

My nickname over on another forum is Little Boy Blue, and on another Floid Blue Philanthropist, not Aqua Man.
