BEST INJECTOR BLADES
I just bought my first INJECTOR RAZOR. I know the choices are limited but are there any blades preferred and any reviled?

RE: BEST INJECTOR BLADES
i have heard the best ones are the Schick ones made in China. You should be able to pick them up at Walgreens or most pharmacies from what i know in the US. i am sure one of the injector experts will come along and provide more information. i think Johnny would be the most experience lad with injectors. Hee hee.

Good luck.

I know of one for sure who has more experience than I do, Nick (wknicholas).

IMHO the blade celestino mentions is by far the best.

Chinese Schick for sure. I've only found 1 mom & pop pharmacy in my area to carry them. Otherwise amazon or drugstore.com.

RE: BEST INJECTOR BLADES
I picked up a pack from a grocery store downtown here, Pick 'n' Save, for about $5. Not sure where they're made but they work quite well so far. My Walgreens no longer carries them, unfortunately.

Just look on the back of the pack & you'll find "Made in _____."

RE: BEST INJECTOR BLADES
Personna or Schick are fine blades. My best ones are from Ted Pella.

The Chinese Schick were my favorite when I was using an injector.

RE: BEST INJECTOR BLADES
Amazon: Chinese made Schick Blades (Chicks); http://www.amazon.com/Schick-Injecto...njector+blades

Razor Blade Company: Personna Brand Injectors, 12 dispensers with the metal tab, 20 blades in each dispenser for $37.00 + you can calculate shipping, ~$6-8 dollars depending on location; Razor Blade Company

A few carry a 7 blade pack & you could try Walgreen, Rite-Aid or CVS, Ted Pella also has them, but you can't calculate shipping, which IME was a bit higher than the others.
I've used the Amazon "Chicks" and had good results, ~12 comfortable shaves out of 15, #s 3, 7 & 11 were a bit rough and left irritation. The Personna Blade for me is a bit smoother, I had 14 consecutive, comfortable shaves, YMMV.

One drawback on the Razor Blade Company is they require a minimum $50.00 order, They do carry the SE Gem PFTE Blades, 100 @$21.00, and some Personna DE Blades with the Black & Red Cardboard package, 12 dispensers , 10 blades in each @$34.65 that you could include.

RE: BEST INJECTOR BLADES
Hiya,

Over the years I've probably tried a dozen different injector blades....maybe more. The ones in my rotation that I've settled on are all vintage blades made by Personna, Gillette, and Schick.

The current Schick Chinese blades are ok, but not as sharp as some other discontinued brands out there. The problem is you need to sample each blade yourself.....just like a DE blade. One example is I prefer the vintage Personna Super Stainless blade over the Stainless version. Heh, I had to try em both to find that out though. Same thing's true for the other brands. They don't all shave the same.

Now you may see some vintage injector blades selling for top dollar. In many cases, there's a reason that people are willing to spend more on old blades than new. Finding the right injector blade is a bit of a rabbit hole kinda thing.

Martin

Ted Pellas are much cheaper even with shipping added. You can call them and order that way if you want to know the exact shipping. Ted Pellas are 20 to an injector.

RE: BEST INJECTOR BLADES
In my personal experience the Pella injector blades were nowhere near as smooth & sharp as the Chinese Schicks.

If ordering from Pella you can save some shipping money if you have them shipped to a business address.

That's how I had mine shipped. Wow, I didn't pay attention to the Razor Blade Company with 12 dispensers of 20 blades. That is definitely the cheapest. Thanks for the info.

I straight razor shave but lately have been doing touchups with my Paul Revere and Ted Pella. I will have to stock up on the Personnas. I find all the injector blades to work well. Ted Pella isn't as smooth, but it surely is sharp.

Thanks for the tip about Razor Blades Co. I also like that you can order the coated injector blades (I presume these are made by Personna?) without the dispensers.

I see they also carry the well-loved Personna Med Prep DE blades. GEM PFTE blades are a better price with Connaught.

RE: BEST INJECTOR BLADES
I used my injector for the first time a few days ago and I was very surprised with how well it shaved. That being said, the blade dispenser I used is Schick brand and says made in USA. From what I've read, the current Schick blades are made in China, but previously they were made in Germany.

I haven't a clue where to get USA or German old stock blades (since my understanding is they aren't made anymore), but I'd sure like to find some more!
