New Parker Open Comb Razors
Parker recently released two new open comb razors and I could not help but adopt one. I have used the new Parker 24C razor the past two days and I am thoroughly impressed from the build quality, plating, balance, grip and most importantly, the shave.

The handle is deeply knurled with 4 rings where you can rest your fingers. This baby is not going to slip out of your hand even if it is soapy. The blade aligns perfectly every time and the razor delivers a very smooth moderate shave. On an aggression scale, the 24C is definitely more aggressive than an Edwin Jagger DE89 but perhaps less aggressive than a Merkur 38C. It makes an excellent everyday shaver.

The Parker design is smarty done -the tines of the open comb are rounded so that you do not feel any roughness on your face. If you have never tried a Parker razor or if it has been several months since you have tried one, you owe it to yourself to try their new Open Comb models. I think that you will be impressed.

RE: New Parker Open Comb Razors
Those razors look really interesting. The heads look like the Gladweg Deluxe (or the copy iKon made of it) without the dual-head gimmick.

I also like the Parker handles, which are nice and solid without being very expensive or too heavy.

Are these the same heads as the Cadet Open Combs?

I thought so too, but they look more rounded at the teeth than those.

Very nice razors and Parker's first attempt at an open comb.

Oh, those look very nice! They remind me of the Joris heads for some reason. Blush

I like the looks of that razor. It's good to see more open comb choices being produced! Seriously though, these teeth are more abbreviated than the Cadets. Not the same head. I intended to post a pic of my Cadet to show it, but as a Noob to TSN, I just realized I don't know how. DOH!Facepalm

Those look nice. Sounds like they are less aggressive than the Cadet OC.

RE: New Parker Open Comb Razors
The head kind of reminds me of the Matador OC razors.

It may be premature but three shave in and this is my current favorite razor. Believe the hype...it delivers a great shave. YMMV and all of that.

Perhaps it is just the honeymoon phase but, I really love this razor. Parker has done a great job.

New Parker Open Comb Razors
I'm going to try one and just placed an order with Phil. I am on vacation for two weeks but it will be there waiting for me when I get home. It's been years since I tried a Parker so it will be interesting to see how they've changed. For $29 it's not much of a risk.

Yes, it is knurled and has a sure grip. The black handle does not have the rings.

I love the idea of the smoothed teeth. The first razor I bought that had this features was the iKon Shavecraft 101. I love it.

I'm interested in this razor head, but not in the whole razor. I have a lot of excellent handles sitting around that need to get back into the rotation.

Do they sell the head independent of the handle?

Interesting. Do you usually get along well it OCs, or does this one behave differently than most? I ask because I usually don't like DE OCs.

This one is much smoother on the face than most. There is no harshness at all.

That is exactly what I was hoping to hear, Phil. I guess I'm gonna have to get one of those soon!

These razors do look good. I have a Parker 94R, a 3 piece razor and I love the way it shaves. I will be picking one of these up from Phil very soon.
