I find the E2 to be a little aggressive. The E3's and G1's are about the same and a little less aggressive than the E2. My I series razors are just about right for me and I use them the most. But when I want to shave like grandpa, I grab my E2.

Andrew, for me blade choice made a big difference in getting a smooth injector shave. Which blade did you use?

I had tried E type that I borrowed from Dave and I can confirm that this is the most aggressive injector I've tried. This was very surprising as I could not see any visual differences between this E and the G that I have. The shaves were not pleasant at all Sad

I get a much better shave when I use a Chinese Schick blade than when I use a Pella blade.

I have an I1 that I haven't tried yet. maybe I'll load a blade into it and put it next on deck.

Andrew, the blades that you got from Amazon are the Chinese Schick blades if they are the ones in the yellow blister pack.
Otherwise, I don't think that Amazon sells any other new Injector blades.

I find that the E2 is by far the most aggressive of the Injectors, even a bit more than my adjustable M series dialed up all the way. I seriously find it as aggressive as the Cobra Classic with a Feather Pro SE blade but the Cobra is smoother for me than the E2 with the modern Schick blade or any of the vintage Schick blades that I have.

I don't know if it's a technique thing or something inherent but the E2 has been a tough one for me to master. I even got a second one of them to make sure that the first wasn't problematic. I have read of others doing this as well.

I still love having the razor and WILL conquer it one day but for now, I get great, problem free shaves from all of my other Injectors.

I love my Schick E series razors. They have some bite, but it's not too bad, and man! I love the shave!

They're the reason I got rid of my Cobra Classic razors (I had several). These shave me as well, and they're a bit cheaper. Biggrin

andrewjs18, try holding the head and blade flat on your face, tilt minimally, keeping the edge virtually straight up/down. Use just enough pressure to hold the razor head to your face & use short strokes.

I love all my injectors but the E type is my favorite, not only shave-wise but also the beautiful Bakelite handle is cool, especially with the reddish thin lines swirling through the butterscotch color.

I finally found an E2 that opens when the spring is turned to the left. It should be arriving soon. I’m very excited about owning one of these. I assume I should not open it too much to save the spring? I love the cleaning feature and needed my favorite Schick to clean easily, because it’s going to get a lot of use!

I have a question, I often hear of the “E3” type and wonder if those are the E types where the spring is fixed. If that is correct, I’ve been shaving with an E3! Also, the E types with the fixed spring seem to have darker colored brown swirls in the Bakelite.

I have a love/hate relationship with my E types.
My E's both have the spring that opens.
They shave extremely well, but they have also cut me worse than any other razor.

I use the Personna baldes, but I will try to get some Chinese Schicks to see if I have better luck with them.

Overall, I prefer the China made Schicks, but the Personna blades work fine. I use both. Smile Definitely give the Schicks a try, they last a good long time.

I used my new E2 today and it's already my favorite razor Smile I love that I can open up the head to clean. It's everything I was looking for; design, color, and efficiency!

To say I love my Es' is an understatement. Of my collection of 14 Schicks I have 8 model Es', all except the E_1. So 1st--ymmv. Is the E highly effective? Yes as much to me as my Merkur 37c slant. Does it shave as close as a straight does for me yes. Am I far less prone to irritation? yes.2nd-- is it smooth and easy to handle? Yup. How does it compare to my other Schicks. Tops! I luv the Hydro's but I have to work too hard with them and although I get dfs/bbs it (the shave) just doesn't hold up to the "Bogie Test" like my Es' can. Same blade, soap, prep, etc..
My advice is to keep the pressure light and hold the handle more parallel to your face than with a DE. It'll sing to you and you'll know it's right
Aggressive to me connotates , roughness, nicks, weepers, irritation and burn and not the smooth, almost effortless shaves I get with an E. Of course, ymmv! Happy Shaving!Biggrin

I have what I believe is an E1. It is identical to the one above but with 2 stops for the spring one on each side. I really enjoy the way it shaves, it is as close as a Cobra but it is not as smooth. It requires a very light touch and is very easy to maneuver.

Love the Type E...I must, as I now have eight of them....The aggressiveness is something I enjoy....An E is always in rotation with my other SE razors.

Th E-1 as far as I can find, according to The Schick dating page, it had a different shaped spring, a flattened ( squared off?) instead of round spring with flaps. Can't say for sure as I haven't found one yet though I have all the E's otherwise.
And yes,the E-2 is a corker as far as assertiveness! I can remember my dad with bits of tissue stuck to his face after every shave. Bye the way, don't run up and hug your dad while he is shaving with an E !!
Merry Christmas!

Here are the pictures of my E1. It is in great shape as you can see (still has some soap residue on it). One of my best razors.
