RE: Top 5 Safety Razors
John, I haven't heard mention of the Lux razor for a long time and I don't think I've ever actually seen anyone press one into service! I have one, but I have never shaved with it, as the razor bed always looked a little flimsy to me. I got mine mainly for the handle.

I didn't realize this thread had dust on it. My current post (below) is actually the same as this was.

Received a Joris over the weekend as a birthday gift from my wife and kids.

The Joris tops my top 5 by a mile!

RE: Top 5 Safety Razors
In not particular order:

GEM Damaskeene
Ever Ready 1914
GEM Jr. with bakelite handle
Gillette NEW long comb

I don't have a solid 5th yet. I have a Fasan and an Ever Ready Streamline enroute, so we'll see if either can make the top five.

RE: Top 5 Safety Razors
My choices change on my mood, but today, and I'm going to cheat a bit...

(Not in any particular order)
1)Gem OCMM
2)GEM 1912 series (that's the cheat since it's at least 3 razors, more if you include the EverReady that is a '12, but there's a razor in the series for everyone)
3)Gillette Slim
4)Muhle '11 R41
5)EverReady '06 LC
