I shaved half my face tonight with a merkur 1904 and the other half with a new long tooth using an astra sp blade. my preferred razor based on the shave tonight in the 1904.

I also have an old type and a fasan oc slant that I haven't used in a while.

British NEW's (Tech handled, Service Sets, #77 etc), R41 and my three Ikons (Deluxe, OSS, and S3S) are my go to OC's.

There's a Tradere OC on the way to try out soon and I'm hoping that this will get added to the list above as a go to OC.

It had been a long-combed NEW with a BRW bull mastiff, but my new Ziglar OC slant is giving the NEW a run for its money.

I have a number of OC razors.

Gillette Old Type short comb
Gillette New Type Long Comb
Merkur 11c and 12c (that is the short and long handle)
Mühle R41 modern (and 2009-2010)
iKon OSS (well it's half OC)
Joris with Thuja Burr Wood handle (very light at 45g)
Joris with Palladium Lined handle (105g)

My go to at this time is the Joris with the Palladium handle. I've not stopped using it since it arrived. Very close shave, not a face eater.

My favorite OC razor is the Gillette Big Boy Deluxe from about 1931 or '32. I also enjoy the Gillette New Standard or the head from a Tuckaway. However, after an extensive period of using them I've taken them out of the rotation because they aren't as smooth and close as the Cobra Classic SE, the Barbasol floating head, or the (newly added) Muhle R41 2011 Toothcomb. They're all very nice shavers, though.

Only 2 shaves in and I'm convinced the new iKon Deluxe OC is my new go to razor!

I shave with straights, but when I decide to shave using a DE I go to one of two OC's; a tuckaway and a new standard.

Long comb New is my favorite with short comb new, new deluxe , old type, Cadet and Fatip getting some use. All get used primarily with an ebony BRW handle (shown below). Fatip and cadet shave the closest but both have bitten me where the others dont (rarely even a weeper).

The new iKon OC Deluxe, just edging out my 2010 iKon OC Bulldog Deluxe. A wonderful shaver.

Mark (Oakeshott) has been doing a fantastic job of introducing me to more obscure razors as I find what really works well for me.

One of the one's that he loaned me was one called a L'Essor. From what he tells me it's a very obscure French OC DE razor. It has a very shallow blade angle and very short teeth. It shaves like a dream.

L'Essor #1
L'Essor #2
L'Essor #3

The last one is about the weirdest razor I have seen.

Those all look like SE's. The one I'm using is a DE.

Let me go snap some pictures.

This Old Type is my favorite. It is about all I use any more.
